Home Defense is a common topic among Americans and the concern for personal safety is a very real one. Statistics show that of the 3.7 million homes that were broken into, over 1 million were done so with a resident inside the home at the time of invasion. And in many cases, these home invasions have gone from burglary to crimes such as assault, homicide, sexual assault, and kidnapping.
For many, having a firearm in the home provides for some feeling of safety, and if properly trained a firearm can be an asset. Unfortunately, relying on firearms is a plan that fails often for home defense. Homeowners often store their firearms in places that are inaccessible, or the situation is unexpected and they cannot get to their firearm in time, or in some cases the firearm isn't a good option due to other people in the home.
In a recent training seminar S2 Strategic Defense held in Texas, we taught students how to devise a good home defense plan including preventative planning, post event planning, as well as immediate action plan. These plans will accommodate for a wide variety of dynamics such as floor plan, communications, weaponry, preservation of life and otherwise.
Like all plans, this plan needs to be fluid to account for sudden changes. Home Defense Training with S2 Strategic Defense gives students knowledge on how to build plan for their families, as well as tactic/technique in self defense.
